Thank you for visiting my personal website, where I share my academic work and personal experiences that have shaped my research and teaching. I was born and raised in South Korea. The pictures, taken by my dad, show places in South Korea where I used to walk around with my family. As a first-generation college student, I am indebted to my parents who strived to overcome limited resources and made sacrifices for my education. My academic life has been influenced by my family members, many colleagues, students, staff, and community members with whom I have been fortunate to collaborate.

I find a sense of my Korean identity at the Vision Korean School, where I teach children every Saturday. I appreciate the school’s commitment to listening to teachers and parents in order to best support students each week.

I also teach future educators at Texas A&M University, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside students, parents, educators, and the community.
